Those who know me, know that I have  cerebral palsy and that I’m a Christian. I’m not  ashamed of who I am or the God I believe in, but I’m tiring of people  wearing the name “Christian” and hurting people in the process. I’m talking about these so called “faith healers” who are spitting out lies in the name of Jesus and making a profit off their followers as they do it.

          Robin and I were listening to Word FM in the car last night, and on the Bible Answer Man program Hank Hanegraff was pointing out this evil. He played a sermon from a faith healer who said that God doesn’t want to be in a broken body, where limbs don’t work,eyes don’t see or ears don’t hear. We couldn’t believe what we were hearing. He added that if you get sick or stay disabled, it’s because you lack faith. Wow! If this is true, every God fearing man or woman who has ever been disabled or died because of sickness died because of a lack of faith. But God is bigger than all of these lies.

     Look at the Ministries of Joni Tada, who is a Quad and who uses a wheelchair, Justin Peters and David Ring who both have cerebral palsy like me. God has used these people to advance His Kingdom and I challenge the Benny Hinns of the world to prove God Wrong. Even in my own ministry God has used me to build a youth ministry and reach teens with his love. Forgive my strong language here, but these people really PISS me off! Because so many people with disabilities are left feeling God doesn’t love them or can’t use them.

9:1 As he passed by, he saw a man blind from birth. 2 And his disciples asked him, “Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind?” 3 Jesus answered, “It was not that this man sinned, or his parents, but that the works of God might be displayed in him-John 9:1-3

   Scripture is our weapon against all the lies of these fakes and workers of Satan! God, in His love, doesn’t always take away disability, cancer,pain,and even death.

7 So to keep me from becoming conceited because of the surpassing greatness of the revelations, [1] a thorn was given me in the flesh, a messenger of Satan to harass me, to keep me from becoming conceited. 8 Three times I pleaded with the Lord about this, that it should leave me. 9 But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me. 10 For the sake of Christ, then, I am content with weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and calamities. For when I am weak, then I am strong.-2Corinthians 12:7-10

       The Apostle Paul prayed that his thorn, a physical illment, would be removed but God’s answer was not what he exspected. Jesus tells him that He was all Paul needed, and Paul replied with praise and worship, not a “woe is me” routine. Now, I believe in the healing power of prayer, but sometimes God chooses not to.

6 yet for us there is one God, the Father, from whom are all things and for whom we exist, and one Lord, Jesus Christ, through whom are all things and through whom we exist.-1 Corinthians 8:6

15 He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation. 16 For by him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things were created through him and for him- Colossians 1:15-16

     My life, my disability and my circumstances are for the glory of Jesus Christ. As Joseph told his brothers who tossed him in a pit and then sold him into slavery:

Do not fear, for am I in the place of God? 20 As for you, you meant evil against me, but God meant it for good, to bring it about that many people  should be kept alive, as they are today-Genesis 50:19-20

     Christians get so caught up in healing that  a person who’s poor, been raped, disabled, and lost never recieves what they need most, Jesus! We need to allow Him to work out His Will for their life and stop confusing people with a false wealth and health gospel. All people, disabled or not, need to know that what they really need is God and the everlating relationship he offers through His son Jesus Christ. By the faith healers teachings not even God in the flesh had faith because he was born poor, rejected by his family, deserted by his disciples, scorged and mocked, and suffered more than any one on the cross, feeling the sepration from God so we don’t have to. Even if my argument doesn’t prove their bullsh@% gospel, the life of Jesus does.

     So, take heart if you are in Christ you belong because;

11 Here there is not Greek and Jew, circumcised and uncircumcised, barbarian, Scythian, slave, [5] free; but Christ is all, and in all.-Colossians 3:11

      And if you’re not a Christian, I urge you to come to him and trust in him and know that the christian life is not a cake walk like some false teachers say because Jesus promised:

33 I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.”-John 16:33

    I’ll end on this. You will have ups and downs in this life but, Jesus will see you through to the end when we are in glory with him. Just Trust Him.

21:1 Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and the sea was no more. 2 And I saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. 3 And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Behold, the dwelling place [1] of God is with man. He will dwell with them, and they will be his people, [2] and God himself will be with them as their God. [3] 4 He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.”-Revelation 21:1-4
